FAQs
For private, domestic work on private land there’s no legal licence requirement. On a commercial or construction site, the operator will usually need a valid CPCS or NPORS card. As with our diggers, you’d only need a driving licence if the machine were going on a public road. If you’re not sure which applies, just ask and we’ll point you the right way.
That’s exactly what these machines are built for. The Messersi TC50d is just 660mm wide, so it slips through standard doorways and the tightest gateways, and even the wider Thwaites Hi-Tip fits most access points at 1,115mm (or 982mm with the optional narrow wheels). Measure the narrowest point and check it against the width on the spec above. If it’s close, send us the figure and we’ll confirm.
Tracks are the answer when wheels struggle. The rubber tracks spread the machine’s weight and grip soft ground, mud and slopes that would bog down a wheeled barrow or dumper, while keeping ground pressure low so there’s less mess on lawns and finished surfaces. If the site is wet, sloping or delicate underfoot, tracked is the way to go.
The Messersi TC50d has a maximum safe load of 500kg, and the Thwaites 1 Tonne Hi-Tip takes up to 1,000kg, both a huge step up from a wheelbarrow, so you’ll shift far more per trip. If you’re moving a lot of material or working over longer distances, tell us about the job and we’ll help you pick the size.
The Messersi TC50d is £40 + VAT (£48 inc. VAT) per day or £160 + VAT (£192 inc. VAT) for five days, and the Thwaites 1 Tonne Hi-Tip is £50 + VAT (£60 inc. VAT) per day or £200 + VAT (£240 inc. VAT) for five days. A five-day hire works out cheaper per day than five single days. Request a quote or get in touch to check availability.
